John 15:13

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Divine, Humbling, Life changing, Enlightening, were some of the adjectives used to describe our trip to South Africa. Kick for Christ along with members of Tiffany Fellowship Church in Kansas City, Missouri visited South Africa to fellowship with the locals by conducting soccer camps, donating soccer gears and used clothing and rebuilding/improving churches and living quarters. During the first two weeks of July 2017, Kick for Christ was in Rustenburg, South Africa spreading the Good News through soccer. Although they didn’t know at first who we were and why we were there, they were very welcoming and appreciative of our intentions.

Day 1

HIV Patience - Freedom Park

We met with a group of nurses in Freedom Park to accompanied them on their daily visitations with HIV patience. These nurses routinely visited their patience to administer medications or to simply say hello. On this day we met several inspiring people with this deadly virus. However there were two that made an impression on all of us.

Beauty - a lady in her mid 50s with three beautiful children. She sews and sells winter hats and scarfs to provide for her family. She was extremely upbeat and excited that we were there to visit her. Although we had nothing much to give her, we just offered to pray - and for her the prayer was as good as anything.

Karabo - a 16 year old girl living with her older brother and mother. At first she was very shy but loosened up through the conversation. We asked Karabo for a prayer request. Assuming she will ask for health and healing, she shocked all of us when she ask for prayers for everyone but herself. She was very selfless in her request. She even prayed for us before we left.
